2026 theme: Our Eucalypt Home

Eucalypts sustain life in ingenious, irreplaceable ways

Eucalypts support Australia’s biodiversity through food, shelter, water, climate control and more—often in ways that are invisible but vital, shaped by millions of years of co-evolution.

Held annually on 23 March, National Eucalypt Day aims to raise awareness of eucalypts and celebrate the important place they hold in the hearts and lives of Australians.

The National Eucalypt Day program aims to meet the promotion, education and conservation objectives of Eucalypt Australia.

Events can be anytime from early March through to mid-April although the weekends each side of March 23rd remain the most favourable times to celebrate.

A limited number of microgrants of up to $500 to assist in the funding or accessibility of events are available however event submissions must be made by the 11th of February 2026 to be eligible.

Events for the calendar should be submitted before the 2nd of March 2026.

Before you submit your idea you can download a pdf (see button below) on what we think makes a good National Eucalypt Day event; however we are open to new ideas, modalities and input and would love to hear what you have to say.

Eucalypt Australia is also open to featuring events running at different times of the year.
