GumNUTS about eucalypts? Or just want to learn more about our local eucalypt species?
Eucalypts are iconic Australian plants, often overlooked or underestimated. With over 800 species, they are a highly diverse genus, full of charm and character. If you’re interested in learning more about these fascinating trees and how to identify different species, join the La Trobe Botany and Plant Ecology Society for a casual guided walk through the Gresswell Habitat Link in Bundoora, led by Dr. Stan Wawrzyczek.
What to bring:
Please wear weather appropriate clothing i.e. sun protection, good walking shoes and bring drinking water.
Bring a picnic lunch if you would like to sit and eat together after the walk.
If you have a copy of Leon Costerman’s “Trees of Victoria & Adjoining Areas,” please bring it along. Some copies will be available on the day to assist with eucalypt ID.
