Eucalypt Discovery Day – Eurobodalla Botanic Garden (NSW)

Our National Eucalypt Day 2026 event will showcase the Eucalypt Lawn and Arboretum at the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden (ERBG), and will be strongly aligned with the 2026 theme, “Our Eucalypt Home.” Scheduled for Sunday 22 March, the event will also celebrate the ERBG’s 40th anniversary. A range of inclusive, family-friendly activities is planned, designed to attract and engage a broad audience, which will draw on our existing infrastructure: accessible paths, imaginative resting places and interpretative signage.

Planned activities include:
• Guided walks through the Eucalypt Lawn/Arboretum and bordering bushland, exploring habitat requirements, species distribution, and ecological relationships between eucalypts, associated flora, fauna and fungi.
• Children’s Storytime, featuring books focused on gum trees and the animals they support.
• Gum Leaf Thoughts, an interactive activity inviting participants to write a short reflection responding to the theme “Our Eucalypt Home.” Collected leaves will be displayed and documented as a community engagement outcome.
• Community barbecue, hosted by the Friends of ERBG at the Arboretum gazebo as a fundraising and community-building activity.
