SUMMARY:GumFest - Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha (Qld)
DESCRIPTION:National Eucalypt Day is turning 10! Join us for a family-friendly celebration of the eucalypt – one of our national botanic treasures. Learn more about our magnificent gum species and discover some of the amazing wildlife they support. There are eucalypt-inspired talks\, guided walks\, workshops and creative activities for everyone!\nTry some gum-inspired art and craft; taste test gum leaf tea (and other bush brews) and species-specific eucalypt honey; follow our gum tree story trail; meet some friendly flying foxes and lend your voices to the ‘land shanties’ of the Salty Sirens\, who have temporarily been shipwrecked on the shores of Moreton Bay and are doing a spot of bushranging on the side… \nPlease allow up to 30 minutes to get to the GumFest site once you reach the Botanic Gardens. We’re putting on a shuttle bus at the Visitor Information Centre to take you up to the festival site at the Australian Plant Communities\, or you can stroll there – just follow the gum leaves along the Adventure Trail. See you there! \nGumFest will be held in the Australian Plant Communities section of Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha.\nFor more information call (07) 3403 2535. \nThis is a FREE All ages event. \n\n\n\n\nEventBrite links\n\n\nGumFest – Celebrating 10 years of National Eucalypt Day\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523233223657\n\n\nGumFest: Workshops: Nature Journaling with Paula Peeters\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523314707377\n\n\nGumFest: Talks: Dyeing with Eucalypts\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523320956067\n\n\nGumFest: Talks: Flying foxes- Nature’s Pollinators\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523328889797\n\n\nGumFest: Workshops: Sugarbag Bees for kids\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523336291937\n\n\nGumFest: Talks: Koalas and eucalypts: What they need and what we can do.\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523344275817\n\n\nGumFest: Workshops: Land shanties with the Salty Sirens\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523368267577\n\n\nGumFest: Talks: The Powerful Owl Project\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523346843497\n\n\nGumFest: Talks: Eucalypts – from seed to seed\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523356622747\n\n\nGumFest: Curator’s walk: Walking the Australian Collection\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/527979429687\n\n\nGumFest: Talks: Cultivating Gums in your Brisbane garden with Robert Wilson\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523357736077\n\n\nGumFest: Walks: Thematic guided walk – Eucalypts 11am\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523362911557\n\n\nGumFest: Walks: Thematic guided walk – Eucalypts 2pm\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/527975497927\n\n\nGumFest: Workshops: Scribbly Gum Secrets\nhttps://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/523365790167\n\n\n\n  \n  \n
