SUMMARY:MUMA Tree Story Exhibition (Vic)
DESCRIPTION:Tree Story brings together creative practices from around the world to create a ‘forest’ of ideas relating to critical environmental and sustainability issues. At its foundation—or roots—are Indigenous ways of knowing and a recognition of trees as our ancestors and family. An exhibition\, publication and podcast series\, Tree Story takes inspiration from the underground networks\, information sharing and mutual support understood to exist within tree communities\, and poses the question: what can we learn from trees and the importance of Country?\nCurated by Charlotte Day and  Dr. Brian Martin\, Associate Dean\, Indigenous\, Monash Art Design & Architecture\, 202o Dahl Medallist and 2021 Dahl Fellow. \nEucalypt Australia is proudly sponsoring the “Tree School” portion of the exhibit open to small groups (bookings required).  The image pictured is a portion of a scar tree (believed to be a grey box but unconfirmed) that is forming the centre of the Tree School. \nEucalypt Australia is also proudly sponsoring the Tree Story Podcast Series. \nMUMA – Monash University Museum of Art – is located at the Caulfield campus in Melbourne and the exhibition runs until the 10th of April. \nMonash University Museum of ArtGround Floor\, Building F\nMonash University\nCaulfield Campus\n900 Dandenong Road\nCaulfield East VIC 3145\nAustralia\n+61 3 9905 4217\nOpening Hours \nTue–Fri: 10am–5pm\nSat: 12–5pm\nClosed Sun\nMon by appointment only\nEntry is always free \n  \n  \n  \n
