The Eucy Museum at Inglewood will be abuzz on National Eucalypt Day with:- an informative talk,
– eucalyptus oil distillation demonstrations,
– eucalyptus themed art show, and
– sales of local mallee tree tubestock.
This year the Eucy Museum will be focussing their talk on:
– the locals’ long relationship with the Blue Mallee Eucalyptus and its role in shaping the region’s history and industry,
– the implications of climate change (especially recent flooding) on the local plantations, and
– the suitability of our local mallee species to the small suburban garden.
Local artist Fiona Rogers will be demonstrating fabric dyeing with eucalyptus leaves.
Demonstrations of blue mallee eucalyptus oil distillation will occur at various times throughout the weekend.
The art show will have works related to the local, natural environment.
