SUMMARY:Wild About Eucalypts - Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (Qld)
DESCRIPTION:Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary will host a day dedicated to nature and eucalypt conservation\, inviting visitors to explore the essential connection between eucalypts\, wildlife\, and environmental preservation.\nAgainst the lush backdrop of the 27-hectare sanctuary\, the event will include engaging activities for all ages\, from storytelling and face painting to up-close creature encounters\, allowing little ones to understand the significance of eucalypts in supporting wildlife. Experts in wildlife and eucalypts will address recent challenges faced by the community in the aftermath of the Christmas day storms\, emphasising the ongoing importance of planting and maintaining eucalypts for wildlife and climate resilience. \nEvent attendance is included in the ticket price (https://currumbinsanctuary.com.au/tickets-and-encounters/day-pass#) for all visitors to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on the day. Attendees can then spend the day experiencing unique eucalypt varieties in their natural habitat\, see first-hand the impact of eucalypts through visiting Currumbin Wildlife Hospital and gain insights into their critical role in sustaining the local ecosystem. \nBook for 23 March 2024 via https://currumbinsanctuary.com.au \nPhoto: Penny from Tallebudgera\, QLD\, was 1 of 250 Koalas vaccinated in our Koala Chlamydia Vaccine Research Program at Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. Penny is now a proud mum to two Koala joeys\, Pablo & Pedro!  The sanctuary is working towards vaccinating 10% of the local Elanora sub-adult Koala population annually and supports habitat conservation in urban areas to safeguard the koalas’ future. \n
