SUMMARY:Eucalypt Discovery Trail - Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens (NSW)
DESCRIPTION:This event will celebrate the launch of a new trail through the naturally occurring old-growth forest at the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden near Batemans Bay on the NSW South Coast. The trail features seven remarkable trees from six different species\, each displaying old-growth characteristics and estimated to be several centuries old. Among them is an Aboriginal scar tree\, where a section of bark was likely removed for traditional purposes\, possibly to craft a shield. \nThe trail showcases the environmental and cultural significance of old-growth eucalypt forests while featuring some of the Eurobodalla region’s largest and most iconic trees. Heavily impacted by the 2019–20 bushfires\, these trees—like much of the forest on the South Coast—now stand as powerful symbols of resilience. \nPlease see the walk map Euc Brochure-compressed \n
