DESCRIPTION:Nuts About Gums will run a Competition with 3 categories to encourage people to get out in nature and explore our great gums.\n1st category is the Longest Leaf. Photo to be taken of leaf with a ruler or tape measure along with a piece of paper with their name\, date leaf found and rough location\, and submitted to an email address. Prizes for first second and third\n2nd category is the Widest Leaf. Photo to be taken of leaf with a ruler or tape measure along with a piece of paper with their name\, date leaf found and rough location\, and submitted to an email address. Prizes for first second and third\n3rd category is the Weirdest/Most Unusual Leaf. Photo to be taken of leaf along with a piece of paper with their name\, date leaf found and rough location\, and submitted to an email address. Prizes for first only. Judging of this will be done by the admin team of Nuts About Gums\,\nAll leaves must be retained until the winner announced as they may be required to be sent in for verification.\nTo enter you must be a member of Nuts About Gums Facebook Group\,\nResults will be published on Nuts About Gums Facebook Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/371844566747946\nAs this competition is to find the longest\, widest\, or weirdest leaf\, it is open to people of all ages and abilities and requires nothing more than a little sense of adventure and their eyes and there will be at least one of the categories suitable for every area of Australia.\n1st place in the first 2 categories\, will receive a Nuts About Gums pack consisting of a T-Shirt\, Bag\, Stubbie Cooler\, Mug and Beanie.\n2nd place in the first 2 categories\, will receive a Nuts About Gums pack consisting of a T-Shirt\, Mug\, Beanie.\n3rd place in the first 2 categories\, will receive a Nuts About Gums pack consisting of a Beanie.\nThe winner of the 3rd category will win a Nuts About Gums Beanie.

SUMMARY:Learning about Eucalypts - Springfield Lakes (Qld)
DESCRIPTION:Join Springfield Lakes Nature Care & Rod Fensham\, from the Qld Herbarium for an educational walk & talk about eucalyptus trees as we journey through a small section of the White Rock Spring Mountain Reserve in Springfield Lakes. This walk is an opportunity to celebrate National Eucalypt Day\, & the beauty & importance of Australia’s iconic eucalypts. \nAt the conclusion of the walk\, we will have morning tea at a nearby parkland & participants can ask questions about Rod’s work or his knowledge of Australian flora. Rod will have copies of his book “The Ace Guide to Eucalypts Brisbane\,” a 49 page book which includes 40 pages of spectacular life size images of the leaves\, buds and fruit of every species. Rod will show people how they can use the guide to identify eucalypts. Rod will have copies of the book for sale on the day. The book costs $20 & if you could bring cash that would be appreciated. \nPlease bring a $4 to cover the cost of morning tea. Thank you
