SUMMARY:Home Is Where The Habitat Is - Projection - Parliament House Canberra (ACT)
DESCRIPTION:Brittle Gums (Eucalyptus mannifera) and the wildlife that depend on them are taking over the façade of the Australian Parliament House\, as part of Enlighten Festival. \n\n‘Home is where the Habitat is’ is a 6-minute animation featuring the changing seasons of Canberra and the species found in the gardens of Parliament House\, including critically endangered and future endangered birds. The projection features an original soundscape and music created by the renowned Dr. Ann Jones and music producer Corey Hague. \nIn collaboration with Dr. Michael Mulvaney\, Eggpicnic have captured the subtle changes of the Brittle Gums throughout the seasons and will unveil the insects that rely on these flowering gums. Eggpicnic worked collaboratively with scientists\, naturalists and music producers to create an immersive experience to renew our sense of connection. \nJoin us on the lawn of Parliament House to watch ‘Home is where the Habitat is’ take flight! \n\nFurther details available: https://enlightencanberra.com/about-the-enlighten-illuminations-installations/aph/

SUMMARY:Art of Flow Workshop: Leaves and the Spaces Between (Online)
DESCRIPTION:Leaves and the spaces between…by Gabbi Lancaster\nThis free online painting workshop will be streamed via Facebook Live. \nSaturday 11th March\n11am – 1pm (Sydney time\, AEDT)\nUsing whatever paint and paper you already have (with a simple suggested materials list in case). \nTo prepare for the workshop\, you will be asked to wander outdoors in parks\, gardens or the bush and collect leaves\, branches\, take photos…  sit and observe\, soak up the colours\, shapes\, smells\, feelings\, sounds of the eucalypt environment. \nThe workshop will begin with expressive painting all over the page considering the colours and all the sensations of eucalyptus. \nYou will need a sprig or 2 of eucalyptus leaves or a great view of a tree… We will be looking at the spaces between the leaves (the negative spaces) to mark out a design and block out the spaces with opaque paint. This will leave the leaves as the beautiful free and colourful layer that we started with. \nMany beginners are amazed by what they can achieve and for more experienced artists this is a fun and dynamic way to explore the skills they already have and try something new.
