Beyond the Gum Tree: Uncovering Eucalypt Stories by the Birrarung (Vic)

A series of four “walk-shops” celebrating the diversity of the Eucalypts of the Yarra, Birrarung river. The “walk-shops” will uncover the key characteristics of Eucalypts, their place in the riparian ecosystem and their interactions with other species.
Participants will be invited to slow down, look closely and uncover the hidden stories held in bark, leaves and form. These walks invite participants of all backgrounds to move beyond plant blindness and develop a deeper appreciation for the diversity, resilience and intelligence of these iconic trees of the Birrarung. The “walk-shops” will be hands-on, experiential and interactive. Facilitators include Vicky Shokuroglou and Rod Fensham (Eucalypts of Victoria book upcoming) and Monash University Lecturer of Australian Vegetation – Chris Lee.
